Shell wanted to revolutionise their recruitment process by harnessing clever communications. So we created a candidate experience that reflected the brand's core values.

The challenge

Shell approached Spoon to help shake up how they found new talent. Although they were a desirable employer across many job roles, their fantastic employer branding wasn’t shining through. They asked Spoon to help them create a candidate experience that reflected their core vision and values.


The solution

Working closely with Shell, Spoon implemented a truly bespoke solution – a smartphone-friendly, end-to-end candidate assessment process. This best-in-class candidate experience humanises the brand and engages candidates throughout the application process.


The results

Recruitment processing times were reduced from up to 240 to 20 days. Application form completion time was reduced from 35 minutes to 5 minutes. And predictive text/drop-down menus reduced application completion time by 20%

Giving candidates a verbal offer on the same day as their final assessment is rewarding and makes candidates feel very appreciated. Nobody else is doing this yet.
